About Arthur Fink

Arthur was a guiding light amidst the diverse communities in which he was active. His photography, social activism, and passion for peace brought him from Manhattan to Peaks Island, and everywhere in between. Learn a little more about the brilliant life behind the camera.

  • Photography

    Arthur served as the resident photographer at the Bates Dance Festival for over 12 years, while also exploring Maine fisheries, children's hospitals, and Peaks Island with his camera.

  • Spirituality

    Arthur was an active member of both the Quaker community and Jewish community in Portland, where he religiously photographed spiritual gatherings as well trips to Auschwitz, led by the Portland Jewish Museum.

  • Peace

    Arthur was a lifelong advocate for peace, beginning with his studies at Swarthmore College, into the following years of anti-war activism, and evolving towards his participation in Portland Friends Meeting.
